The Diller-Quaile School of Music seeks an experienced, dynamic flute instructor committed to developing the innate musicality in each individual and dedicated to helping each student realize his or her full potential.  Learning at Diller-Quaile takes place in a vibrant, supportive, and engaging school culture where the joys of music-making, creativity, and the pursuit of artistry are deeply valued.
The School seeks a collaborative musician and educator who values community and lifelong engagement in the arts.  The candidate must be an exceptional musician with strong performance and teaching skills; and must have extensive knowledge of pedagogical approaches for young children through adults.  A master’s degree is required.
Responsibilities for this part-time position include: individual instruction for beginning through advanced students ages eight through adults; chamber music coaching; coaching of woodwind sectionals; and collaborative curriculum work. All faculty members participate in faculty meetings and professional development initiatives, as well as orientation events and student assessment and reports.
This position is part-time on a weekly basis, with additional student performances and events throughout the academic year. The position commences September 2012.
