CUCSSA welcomes Mr. Lang Lang, world-famous pianist and International Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Children’s Fund, to present a talk at our 10th Columbia China Forum.

He is “world’s ambassador of the keyboard”.

He is heralded as the “hottest artist on the classical music planet” by the New York Times. He appeared in the Time’s annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
His success has catapulted him into the world spotlight. Lang Lang has played sold out concerts in every major city in the world. He is the first Chinese pianist to be engaged by the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic and all the top American orchestras; the first Chinese pianist who performed at the White House State Dinner.

In addition to his notable achievement in the music field, Lang Lang is also dedicated to social welfare and philanthropy in recent years. He is the first pianist appointed as International Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). In 2008, he established the Lang Lang International Music Foundation with the goal of expanding young audiences and inspiring the next generation of musicians through outreach programs.

Lang Lang, not only belongs to China, but also to the world; not only contributes to music, but also to the peace. He is faithful to his music, lives and also the philanthropy. In his talk at Columbia China Forum, Lang Lang will have conversation with faculties and students from Columbia University. Professor Valentini, Dean of Columbia College, will give speech in the event. By sharing Lang lang’s thoughts, we expect this talk will light our passion of music, encourage students and scholars to think over the music education, and raise awareness of charitable causes.

Let us get closer to this music genius, be inspired by his understanding on music, education and charity. Gain a better view of Lang Lang’s talk by joining Columbia China Forum: Pianist Lang Lang’s dedication to Music Education and Charity.
