Doctoral Music Ed Student Aitak Ajangzad featured on BBC Persian: Developing a program to teach bilingual students in NY through music and art

Aitak Ajangzad, a doctoral student at TC was recently featured on a BBC Persian report. Aitak is designing and developing a program of music and art which addresses the education of children who are being raised in New York City by Iranian and/or foreign parents.

The program aims to create a friendly and musical environment in which children can learn about their parental culture and language through fun musical and artistic activities. Aitak uses the Setar (Persian string instrument) to teach songs, thereby helping children relate to Persian instruments and music from an early age.
