How To: Get Fingerprinted In New York City for Student Teaching

| August 12, 2010

Student Teaching in New York City? Need your fingerprints done? Make sure you have all this taken care of so you don’t trek to Brooklyn and then get turned away!

(No one wants that.)

You must do this even if you have been fingerprinted in another state.

So how do you do this?

  1. Go to the NYC Department of Education (NYCDoE)’s Online Student Teacher Registration. Hit ‘Register Now.’
  2. Fill out the information. Hit ‘Save.’
  3. Go to your Student Teacher profile, then look on the right side in a little box. Underneath ‘Fingerprint Information’ click on ‘here’ and it will open a new pop-up box with the form to bring in when you get fingerprinted.
  4. It will ask you to print the form.
  5. Print the form.

Still confused? Here’s a visual.

So now that that’s done, where do you go?
