Job Opening for a band teacher in the Rockport Schools:

k-12 Instrumental Music Teacher

This position is primarily as middle school and high school band and jazz band director. The position may also consist of elementary band, ms/hs general music, hs music theory, or other related courses.

Salary: per Rockport Public Schools Teacher contract

Rockport Schools support a vibrant music program which has wide community and parent support. The middle and high school bands and jazz ensembles have a strong feeder program at the elementary level: 80% of 4th and 5th graders participate in weekly before-school music programming. 

Rockport is a small seaside town one hour north of Boston. It has an active arts community. The schools cultivate a healthy relationship with the local organization, Rockport Music (http://www.rcmf.org/), which recently built a stunning concert hall right on the ocean in the center of town (http://www.rcmf.org/newperformance.html).

In addition to a steady stream of world-class performers coming through town and school, Rockport Music also grants the schools several uses of the hall each year for student performances.
