Kodaly Choral Reading, April 7th

| March 22, 2011

The Kodaly Organization of New York is having their next workshop, Thursday evening, April 7th at the Town School (540 E. 76th St. at York Ave).

This workshop will help choral directors make the most of each rehearsal when preparing octavos that include mixed meters, interesting rhythms or unusual scales and modes. Choral repertoire lists, resource information, rehearsal planning guides, and a choral packet will be given to each participant. The preponderance of the session will be spent reading through and listening to recordings of this music in order to learn the most efficient teaching techniques and conducting gesture appropriate for each.
We are lucky enough to have OAKE’s past-president, Georgia Newlin to lead us in a night of new choral music. We will provide a pizza
dinner, dessert, and hey, maybe you will even learn something new!
